about
This tracks been floating around for a while in our live set so it's been really nice to get it out into the world as a recorded song. Being our only release of 2019, we wanted to make sure this was a good one. We spent lots of time in Dave's granny flat putting this song together that we feel proud of and believe it carries the next story in our timeline of releases. This track feels more mature in the same way we feel more matured as a band. We hope you enjoy this track as much as we enjoyed creating it.
'Do Yourself A Favour' is written about having endless dreams and aspirations as a young adult but not knowing how to reach them. It delves into the idea of feeling overwhelmed by thoughts and getting lost in daydreams of desire. This alternative folk-pop creation starts off mellow and builds into a thick ending filled with harmonies and layers that carry the song with such power.

LYRICS
The clutter on the shelf, in my bedroom.
Is a representation of my mind's mood.
There's a dusty asthma puffer that's empty and used.
I used to have a terrible cough and the doctor said it would soothe it.
But it's hard to find a cure for not knowing what to do with yourself.
So I'll just overthink a bunch of useless things.
And I'll sit, and play my guitar, until it clears my mind, my mind.
Do yourself a favour and ask me where I've been, I've been far far away, in my daydreams.
I don't know what the go is with feeling this need to escape.
It's not like I'm trapped and locked up in a cage.
But metophorically I am, I'm sick of the same thing each day.
I need to find some food for my soul to eat, I need to get away.
They're taking me places I've never been before.
I'm seeing things I want to call mine more and more.
But I guess they're my hopes, I guess they're my dreams, so I'm gonna take them and run.
Take them and run.
Take them and run.
Take them and run.
Do yourself a favour and ask me where I've been, I've been far far away.
